Scientology disconnect policy at work

Introduction

The disconnection policy of Scientology demands cutting off all communication with people deemed to be suppressive persons or groups deemed to be Suppressive Groups. It doesn't matter whether the party to disconnect from are your parents, children, husband or wife. Scientologists comply or are branded suppressive themselves and are expelled out of Scientology.

Do not think lightly of this. it means literately having their entire live taken away from them. Scientologists tend to cluster together in business and private affairs and the person will find himself without a job if his employer is a scientologist and he will be cut off from all indoctrinated people inside Scientology.

What scientologists are deathly afraid of however is losing their 'eternity'. They have been made to believe Church of Scientology can offer that to them, and only Church of Scientology. More on the policy, fear and consequences, on this page: Scientology disconnect policy destroying families

Introduction to the letters below by Jana, as posted to the newsgroup: alt.religion.scientology
These children disconnected from their parents, both old OT 7s, for no reason other than they had gone to an auction on the beach at Sta Barbara, and the auction was sponsored by the AAC. These parents never did any services at AAC. I don't think that they ever entered the premises of the AAC.

I doubt that they ever met David Mayo. They went to an auction on the beach. So did I. There were "churchies" evident all over the beach with their clipboards, taking names and license plate numbers.

AAC = Advanced Ability Center. A competing center setup by former scientologist David Mayo.
OT 7 = a level which in Scientology is regarded as one of the highest secret levels.
"Churchies" = Church of Scientology members.

Jana herself has been disconnected from by Hulda, her scientologist daughter.

The disconnection letters

17 Nov 86

to: John Filisky and Millie Filisky,

Until you have been cleared by the Church of Scientology MAA from
your association with the Mayo squirrel group...which is
suppressive. I will not accept communication from either of you.

I Disconnect.

I urge you to report to the MAA and get handled before you
ruin the rest of your lives and disappoint those who love you.

Rick Hull

MAA = Master At Arms or Ethics Officer. Not to be confused with ethics such as non-scientologists use. In the Scientology case an Ethics Officer is more akin to being thought-police.
Squirrel = derogatory term for scientologists who practice Scientology outside the Church of Scientology. These people are considered to rank below insects per Scientology.

Dear Millie,

I have just learned that you and my father are connected to Mayo's Suppressive
Squirrel Group. I urge you most strongly to go immediately to the MAA at AOLA
and handle this situation. Your entire future as a being is at stake.

Until such time as you have handled this association terminatedly -- i.e.,
disconnected, handled any Ethics program assigned by the MAA, and are in good
standing with the Church of Scientology, I will not give or receive
communications to or from you. I disconnect.

                                Serene M. Hull

                          November 17, 1986

Dear Dad,

I have been in close comm with Ricky this past week since returning from doing
OT III at Flag. He informed me about the Knowledge Report stating you and
Millie had been seen at a Mayo picnic. He also gave me a summary of the long
conversation he had with you yesterday (Sunday).

Ricky told me you refused to go to the MAA and would not promise to cease any
contact with Mayo & Group. By having any contact at all with Mayo's
Suppressive Group you are risking your entire Eternity. I implore you to go to
the MAA at AOLA and get handled immediately--waiting will only make it worse.
To refuse to handle, and to continue to associate in any way with Mayo will
only seal your fate.

Scientology is the most important thing in my life. I know without any doubts
or reservations that it works. And I care about my Eternity. I also care
about yours, which is why I urge you to handle this situation before it is too
late.

But until you do, I cannot and will not risk my own future. Therefore, until
you have been given a clean bill of health from the MAA--are in good standing
with the Church, have disconnected from Mayo and his group, and handled
whatever Ethics program assigned by the MAA, I cannot continue to be in
communication with you in any way.

I will be happy to hear from you once your Ethics cycle is handled, but until
then will neither give nor receive communication to or from you. I disconnect.

                          Love,

                          Sherene
