December 6, 1999 - Shane Wilson

Yesterday, I was walking by the Church of Scientology in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, with some Lisa Mcphereson leaflets that I was just planning on leaving around in bus shelters in the area (no picketing going on here, unfortunately). There was a lady outside washing a window, who I decided to stop and talk to.

I told her the window was lookging "clear", then asked her if she knew what happened to Lisa Mcphereson. She said she didn't want to get into a "com-cycle" with me about that. So I asked her if she would like a leaflet, so she could find out the other side of the story. She said no, then I saw a flash and looked up to see another lady inside taking my picture through the window. One thing that was kind of funny was that the window she took my picture through, had a poster on it promoting Hubbard's "Painting with Light" photography course. Then she came outside and I talked briefly to the two of them before leaving.

I went for a bite to eat, and about half an hour after I had spoken to these two ladies, I was walking down a street about 3 or 4 blocks away from the org, when I saw these two ladies again. This time it was the first woman I talked to who had the camera, and she snapped my picture as soon as I noticed them. Since they already had a couple pictures of me, I decided to pose and smile nice for the camera. She said thanks, and I said your welcome. I'm not sure if they were following me, or if they were wandering around the neigborhood looking for me. But I'm sure it wasn't a chance meeting.

I posted a message about this on a newsgroup called edm.general, and it's resulted in some pretty funny responses.
